Trey Anastasio about the art of jamming

Three chords and the truth? Yeah, and a bit more. Trey Anastasio in a Guitar World interview:

Using minor pentatonic, the Dorian mode and the sharp 11 to jam on "Mike's Song" ... Over the next few months, I'd like to hash out some of Phish's most memorable jams from the past two decades, starting with the one in "Mike's Song"—a static vamp in F# minor, and a shameful rip-off of Ted Nugent's "Strangehold" groove.
