"Hi, my name is James Hetfield and I am working on the new Metallica album."
"Hi, James."
Metallica frontman James Hetfield says that he has been getting to the studio at nine in the morning to work on the band's next album. The singer and guitarist attributes that to being sober for nearly five years, saying that in the past, "I would have been going to bed at 9 a.m., not going to work." He added that making an album while sober is a different experience for him, explaining, "There is a lot more awareness of what we are doing and sometimes over-thinking it. Now we are very present for it all and I'm not afraid to do or try anything musically."
