Sirius Satellite Radio will broadcast the last performance at the legendary New York City rock club CBGB, featuring Patti Smith, on Sunday, October 15 at 9 PM ET on the Sirius Disorder channel.
The famed club is closing following unsuccessful rent negotiations with its landlord. News of its demise has prompted worldwide press coverage and sparked several campaigns to save the musical landmark. Tickets for the final show with Smith were sold out in 8 minutes, according to CBGB's founder and owner, Hilly Kristal.
