Wanna play God? You can. The new Blackies have a suggested price of $24,000. That's a lot money for a semi-used re-make. Part of the profits will go to charity.
Fender is recreating Eric Clapton's Stratocaster named "Blackie" in a limited run that will go on sale in November. The guitars are exact duplicates of his primary instrument from the '70s and '80s on albums including Slowhand, 461 Ocean Boulevard, and Just One Night, and they include reproduced burn marks on the headstock from Clapton's cigarettes, and places where the finish is worn away to the bare wood.
