Isaac Hanson, Taylor Hanson and Zac Hanson. Remember them? Hanson scored a big hit with MMMBop while in their teens. They are still around, and have gone independent after a big falling out with their record company.
The new album The Walk on their own 3CG label shows that they have grown up. Nowadays they are writing shows about AIDS in Africa. Musically Hanson opts for the easy way out. FM friendly powerpop songs that sound nice, but are instantly forgotten. A few touches of an Africa choir can't save them. Lyrically they don't fare much better. Starting a song called Georgia with "Georgia, you know that you've been on my mind" is pretty lame. Good causes deserve good lyrics.
If you liked them in 1997 during their MMMBop heyday you might want to pick this up for old time's sake.
