It's pretty rare to discover a singer-songwriter who sounds like nobody else. Luke Temple is a wizard on banjo and writes songs that sneak into your head looking for comfy place to rest. The musical backing is sparse and mysterious, with soft creeping sounds buried low in the mix. His new album Snowbeast is a serious contender for greatest singer-songwriter album of 2007. Luke Temple has a voice that you will dig immensely if you like singers Jeff Buckley and Aaron Schroeder.
It is a great Sunday morning record, especially if Saturday night turned out to be a bit heavy on the alcohol intake rate. Sufjan Stevens likes him too, don't let that put you off.
Snowbeast is released on Mill Pond Records.
