An all instrumental album and using the viola too. Bad Vibrations, the latest release by Austin, TX band My Education contains seven longish tracks (and one short hidden track that serves as a coda).
The compostions are best described as well arranged post-rock soundscapes. And while post-rock is often an excuse for releasing stuff that goes nowhere at all, the five members of My Education never let go off the wheel when they decide to get off the highway and and continue on uncharted dirt road. They have come up with a soundtracks for a long drive through the badlands or the desert. Recommended listening for music students who take their chosen profession seriously.
My Education:
Brian Purington: guitar
Chris Hackstie: guitar
James Alexander: viola
Scott Telles: bass
Chris Stelly: drums
