The Proclivities: Handguns and Dancing Shoes

The Proclivities from Raleigh, NC, are a hard to pin down foursome. They can rock, they can play jazz and slip into vaudeville and folk tinged tunes. It's all there on their new album Handguns and Dancing Shoes.

Founded by Matt Douglas who started out as trained jazz saxophone and woodwinds player the first genre to be added to his repertoire was folk. Douglas studied the influence of traditional folk music on contemporary improvised music in Budapest, Hungary. It was a small step to alt-country when he got back to the States and now they mix all aforementioned genres in a toe-tapping melting pot, especially in the stand-out track Red Faced Girl.

The Proclivities:
Matt Douglas: guitar, keys, songwriting
Chris Boerner: guitars.
Nic Slaton: bass
Matt McCaughan: drums
