Justin Lamoureux has come up with a musical genealogy. His ancestors started out as fur traders in Canada, came down on hard times during the Great Depression in the thirties, were caught in the Vietnam War and now they are living in Omaha. Naming his project Midwest Dilemma he rounded up a total of 23 musicians to perform on his extraordinary folk album Timelines & Tragedies.
Using strings, woodwinds, guitars, accordion and a musical saw this album catapults itself to the upper echelons of folk music. Think Fairport Convention, The OaKs, and Danny Schmidt. Lamoureux will tour with a few select musicians - try finding a stage that can hold two dozens of players.
Timelines & Tragedies is a self-released album. Buy it from CD Baby, Homers Music and iTunes.
