Gladshot: Burn Up & Shine

Gladshot is a musical body from NYC beating with two different hearts. You have mellow keyboards tracks, courstesy of Debbie Andrews and the guitar rock tracks, delivered by Mike Blaxill. Their third album Burn Up & Shine celebrates both talents, making it a very nice pop rock record, Naming almost the complete sixties pop canon (they got Joe Butler of the Lovin' Spoonful in their video for Fabulous Friends) as their influences Gladshot is the kind of band that will put a smile on your face. They are smooth, they are rough, their songs are right in your face and will get stuck inside you head after just one spin.

With Chris Benelli on drums, Tony Tino on bass and Marc Copely riding shotgun on guitar Burn Up & Shine is pretty near the top of this year's best indie releases. It's produced by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Hold Steady, Oxford Collapse).
