One upon a time there were plenty of shops where you had no trouble finding chewing gum with lots of sugar. No one had ever would wanted to be caught sipping a decaf or - the horror - Bud Light. Things were real, and tasted real. Chicago foursome The Maybenauts are the real thing too: three chicks and a guy playing powerful glam-pop that's so catchy that will be frowned upon by God fearing bigots. Their debut single My Head Is A Bomb was co-produced by Jane Wiedlin, the rhythm guitarist of The Go-Gos, a band that is obviously a huge influence for their debut EP Big Bang.
The Maybenauts:
Leilani Frey: vocals, keyboards
Ellie Maybe: bass, vocals
Vee Sonnets: guitar, vocals
Emily Agustin: drums
