The Eighties are alive and well in Russia. Moscow new wave/disco trio Upstation have released an EP with five retro tracks, with lots of echo and wall-to-wall preprogrammed synths, walking bass lines and guitar licks straight out of the Simple Minds song book. Lead singer Leo Vasilets channels of Simon LeBon and David Gahan, but thanks to drummer Vladimir the band is a cut above being a mere carbon copy of what was hot in the UK ca 1982.
Upstation:
Leo Vasilets: vocals, music, programming, bass
Eugeny: guitars
Vladimir: drums
The Upstation EP is a self-released album. Download it for free from the band's website.
