Vermont quintet Chamberlin have cooked up something good in their secluded log cabin, high in the mountains of Goshen (pop. 200). With a lead vocalist that sound a lot like Jim James (My Morning Jacket) the band plays sad songs on top of meandering time signatures. Their debut full-length Bitter Blood evolves round jangling guitars and the warm sound of Hammond B3. Adventurous Americana with a hint of progressive rock.Scott Tournet (Grace Potter & The Nocturnals) produced the album and plays guitar on the title track.
Mark Daly, Ethan West, Jamie Heintz, Eric Maier and Charles Whistler have developed their own sound when they were holed up in that cabin. No it's time to go out on the road and recreate the slow rumble of Paper Crown and the close harmonies of Fools live on stage,.
Bitter Blood is released on Roll Call Records. Release date: March 1st.
