Filigar are a band from Chicago, who play rough-around-the-edges rock 'n' roll, with a fluid bass underpinning a nervous piano sound. These guys are always in a hurry it seems, but the new tracks of an upcoming new full-length sees them slowing down a bit sometimes - which is a good thing to keep things interesting for listeners with a short attention span.
Casey Gibson, and the three brothers Johnny, Teddy and Pete Mathias are still young, but they've been making music together for many years. They sound tight, even when they are playing at breakneck speed. The mileage may vary, but they are on their way to bigger things. Gigging endlessly and relying on word-of-mouth won't make you an overnight sensation, but it's the best recipe when you are in there for the long run.
