Good Frames is the project of Berlin based musician Frank Cifarelli. He put in a lot of time and effort playing, programming and producing his debut EP Still. Eighties New Wave is a huge source of inspiration, with a hint of Euro disco thrown in, especially when he turns up his voice all the way to falsetto. Think Bowie meeting Falco (without the fat Austrian accent of the latter).
Twilight is the track that comes closest to post-rock, but it's the EP's lead off track There Is A Gulf that will get stuck into the listener's head - a dreamy song with a lilting melody that will appeal to fans of Suede, Rufus Wainwright and Jordan Galland.
The animated video for There Is A Gulf was created by Edward Newiss using old school techniques mixed with digital age wizardry.
Still is a self-released EP. Buy it from his website. "There's no physical release (yet - I'm working on the artwork for a very limited CD-R run)."
