You won't expect a band named The Baby Magic to play dirty garage rock songs about sex. Their full-length Whoopsy Daisy deals with fucking like a sailor (Ass Against These Hands), an obnoxious rodent that doesn't want to die (Rats), and clothes that won't fit any more (I Want My Mommy).
The Chicago trio won't make any friends among Martha Stewart or Oprah fans, who don't want to hear the lingo of the street in their well-scrubbed homes. The band's not so-secret weapon is singer Mary Beth Brennen, capable of howling at the moon and bringing down to Earth. The Baby Magic are loud, abrasive and definitely not-safe-for-work. Wasn't that was rock 'n' roll was all about? Play it with the top down. And don' forget to smile and wave to the confused people on the sidewalk.
The Baby Magic:
Mary Beth Brennan: vocals, keys
Patrick Coleman: guitar, backing vocals
James Andrew: drums
