Vancouver is a rock city, housing countless hard working bands. Pigeon Park is one of them and their self-titled debut EP is a resume for their music: blues rock with a hint of funk and even some reggae. Opening track Lovelight hits the ground running, but they run out of steam during Figures, a rather boring rock ballad. Don't give up on them just yet- It's Not That Likely is a tender acoustic folk song and Statues of Feathers proofs that they can do ballads without putting the audience to sleep. Only Us Fools pays tribute to The Guess Who. They go out on a high note. with singer Nick Weber digging out his falsetto for the intro.
Pigeon Park sounds tight like a well-oiled machine. Go see 'em live - this is the kind of band that opens up on stage. With a two guitar front line things may get loud.
Pigeon Park:
Nick Weber: vocals
Kevin Okabe: guitars
Logan Pacholok: guitars, vocals
Artur Lepert: bass
Hunter Elliott: drums
