Toronto rock band Wildlife have released their second full-length ...On The Heart. Lead single Born To Ruin barely survived the production skills of Peter Katis (Interpol, The National) and the album as whole suffers from a muddy, brick walled sound, which is fine for tiny speakers of smartphones and that crappy headphones to come with them.
Everyhing and everybody wants to be upfront and that's a shame because these guys can come up with snazzy power pop (Dangerous Times), synth rave ups (Dangerous Times) and tender ballads (Don't Fear). Next time, hire a Pro Tools major student with good ears.
...On The Heart is released on Wax Records.
