Canadian punk rocker Eamon McGrath sound a lot older than 23 - that's what performing 250 shows and counting does for your voice and presence. Having released three one-man band albums his new one Exile has outside musicians and it will be delivered as a three-part EP series, culminating in a full-length vinyl release. Part 1 sees him exploring energetic college rock (Bitter Ends), mid-tempo indie Enduring Love and even a bit of rough-around-the-edges soul (Uninvited Guest).
It is a good start and the very wise decision to record it live off the floor with all the musicians in the same room gives the songs a boost. Let's see if part 2 and 3 can live up to the expectations that this EP has generated.
Eamon McGrath: guitar, vocals
Peter Dreimanis: guitar
Danny Miles: drums
Clay Jones: bass
Exile Part 1 is released on Aporia Records. Release date: October 15th.
