Dutch indie folk band I am Oak have gone back to their shelved ideas, unreleased live favorites, and old tunes that never made it unto an official release. Ols Songd contains a few surprises for their fanbase anand ar abel to find out what Birches’ and Honeycomb are supposed to sound like. All songs were recorded in the Fall of 2013, so no risk of so-so demo sound quality.
Songwriter and main man Thijs Kuijken takes his band by the hand to explore the subtleties that are and essential part of his craft: single notes to capture the Pollen of the Plains and voices joining forces to picture the power of Firm Hands. Ols Songd is a soft-spoken album, but its contents speak volumes.
Ols Songd is released through Snowstar Records. Release date: January 31.
