NYC indie rock band Gladshot are back with a new EP. Maxwell's Cool Demon is the follow-up for their Burn Up & Shine album which came out in 2008. They kept themselves busy playing shows and writing songs for the indie rook musical Barcode. A few of those songs made it to the new EP, including the cheerful sounding but rather sinister Corp Safe.
Once again produced by John Agnello the EP is laidback and packing a punch simultaneously. Debbie Andrews (keys) and Mike Blaxill (guitar) take turns handling the lead vocals, singing songs about plants (Fun With Hydrangeas), and the quest for a stand-out skin art design (the powerpop song Star Tattoo). With a nod to the Stones in Steady Light they have written their best rock song to date. Gladshot may be very prolific, but they make in quality with they lack in quantity.
Gladshot:
Debbie Andrews: vocals, keys
Mike Blaxill: vocals, guitar
Macolm Gold: bass
Tony Mason: drums
