NYC guitarist Lucas Brode, member of instrumental post-rock trio Hannibal Montana, goes out on his own with prixvyou. The EP is a showcase for his influences, ranging from jazz and avant-garde to modern minimal music and math rock.
The six short pieces - Drip is all done after 16 seconds - find him prowling the back alleys of electric guitar playing, with static not being used as a texture in stead of a nuisance. Brode is an explorer, who uses the three parts of Circadian Shapes for three different rhythmic approaches of a cool musical idea. Buyers of the CD are treated to the lengthy Stoicism, a free flowing track with an ambient atmosphere. Recommended if you like Matt Stevens and Bill Frisell.
prixvyou is a self-released EP. Buy it from his website.
