Australian Hammond player and singer Lachy Doley is in love with the soulful blues of yesteryear. His new studio album Conviction is a party record with high energy originals and a few choice covers, including A?DC's Back in Black and Albert Collins' Lucille. Taking cues from legendary players (Steve Winwood, Booker T. and Jon Lord) he can make his organ scream and sigh, while singing his ass off.
He throws in gospel-tinged backing vocalists for the title track and proclaims proudly that he is very own man in the funky Frankly My Dear I Don’t Give A Damn. With his power trio The Lachy Doley Group he has been dubbed the Jimi Hendrix of the Hammond by the Australian press - a stupid tag that doesn't sit well the laconic good times feel of his music, but he is a surefire guarantee to get his audience into frantic dancing. John Belushi would have loved him.
Conviction is a self-released album. Buy it from his website. It will be released through Marista in The Netherlands and Belgium on July 13th.
