The New York Times reports about the TV adaptation of Patti Smith's memoir Just Kids:
Showtime announced Tuesday that it had acquired the rights to Patti Smith’s memoir, “Just Kids” and would adapt it into a limited TV series. The book, which won the 2010 National Book Award for Nonfiction, focused largely on Ms. Smith and her relationship with the photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. (...)
The series will be co-written and produced by John Logan, the playwright and executive producer of Showtime’s “Penny Dreadful.” Ms. Smith will be the other writer.
