The Eighties were a bleak and ugly decade. A lot of the music was rather cold and harsh (or over-produced which is worse). London based singer ACTRESE took the electronics of that bygone era to create Upper East Siders, a slacker song that gets under your skin.
It's a thowback to the underground that never made ito the mainstream back then; aloof, quirky and cut up with intermittent drums patterns. Timeless weirdness that will be appreciated by old school synth lovers and collectors of no wave and twisted funk.
