Brooklyn singer-songwriter Erin Pellnat writes serious psychedelic-tinged folk songs. Her Dream in Color is filled with four snap shots from her everyday life. It's about self-doubts but also about feeling great - the jazzy bossa nova of Blue Skies and Happiness shows both sides.
She tends to stuff too many syllables in the lyrics and breaking the flow of the melody. Her voice sounds like a young version of Suzanne Vega. She is a raw talent who can write a waltz (Forever Kisses) and make it sound like a pop song.
Dream in Color is a self-released EP. Buy it from her website.
