Scottish post-punk quartet Glassbooks went through some personnel changes after they released an EP and a single. With a new rhythm section their sound is more accessible on Shieldface their first full-length and they have written their first love song of sorts, Rosa, and included two short instrumental, Blue Outro and the Prox.
They mav slowed down a bit, but they are still capable of writing a meandering song that doesn't follow a safe signposted route. Laika Monologue, a tribute to the first dog in space, and the cinematic We Have Always Lived in the Castle, might even strike a chord within prog circles. Glassbooks are transforming and the search for a new identity is now out in the open for all to hear. Where will they go next? Some place interesting, that's for sure.
Glassbooks:
David Escudero King: vocals, guitar
Adam Carrington: guitar
Bo Hamilton: bass
Rosie Murray: drums
