Orlando hard rock band Anyone's Guess deserves an A+ for perseverance. Clint Chambers (guitar) and Sanja Jovanovic (vocals, bass) and their long time drummer Matt McCormick parted ways, just before they were about to enter the studio to lay down the tracks their new Commitment Issues EP. Don Cadman (Mr. Bella) came to the rescue and the recording sessions went ahead as planned, with Brian Virtue in the producer's seat. Keywords: anger and energy.
Commitment Issues is pretty intense, with a radio-friendly vibe. This is the kind of music to play on a car stereo while barreling on down the highway with the top down. Jovanovic's vocals are loud and confident, think a mix of Ann Wilson and Linda Perry and will induce many of her female fans to strike in pose in front of the mirror. Chamber's guitar a can purr like a kitten, but he prefers to roar like a big cat.
Lead single So Long and the complex and ambitious The Ledge are two sides of the coin. They can cater to the rowdy bars clientele and the progressive rock fans who need a break after listening to Steve Wilson for a couple of hours straight. Recommended if you like Kleveland and Heart.
Commitment Issues is a self-released EP. Buy it (CD, digital) from their website.
