Elephant Stone: Live At The Verge

Canadian psychedelic raga rock trio Elephant Stone have released their session at SiricumXM Toronto as a digital EP. The tracks on Live At The Verge stay close to the album versions mostly, with the exception of The Devil's Shelter - they have to do without guest vocalist Alex Maas - and See The Light that they play a bit faster. The cover art shows performing in a small club, but no fans were present in the studio when they recorded cut the tracks in February.

Although it';s nice to hear this slightly sparser reworkings of the band's back catalog, em>Live At The Verge lacks the urgency of a real live show. A studio isn't a proper place to capture the urgency of a full band warts-and-all first take. Go see 'em to get a real taste of their unique blend of Indian raga and Western rock.

Elephant Stone:
Rishi Dhir: vocals, bass, sitar, keys
Gabriel Lambert: guitar, backing vocals
Miles Dupire: drums

  1. Good point about the cover, that's kinda weird. Love the sound of Rishi's bass.
