Give a young promising blues musician a seasoned, kick-ass backing band and something good may come out. The Greg Sover Band followed that recipe and the new Jubilee EP is the tasty result.
Blues and soul are about emotion aad Sover has the words and music to make a statement. With his smooth but powerful voice he depicts the horrors of war in Emotional or the closer to home everyday relationship troubles in I Give My Love and Temptation. The latter was recorded live at Steel City Coffeehouse, Phoenixville, PA, and is a showcase of for his guitar pyrotechnics about halfway Stevie Ray Vaughn and Buddy Guy.
Sover has all the trappings of becoming one of the new electric blues front runners. He is a soulful guitar hero writing his own material, in step with the tradition, but adamant to push the boundaries.
