Wille and the Bandits: Paths

UK acid world rock trio Wille and the Bandits loves to do some shopping, using bits and pieces from other genres to broaden their musical palet. Their latest album is called Paths and they leave the 12-bar main road quite often for trips to latin, funk, folk and grunge. Safe for the clunker Chakra, a bungled crossover using clashing rhythms, it turned out great.

This band is all about energy, honing their craft as a touring band. With the classic power trio format they set up a catchy grove and let the melody take care of the rest. That may sound like a no-brainer, but it is actually quite hard to pull off. Should one of the musicians drop the ball, the music would come to a grinding halt, but these guys know their stuff. Passion, power and chops make a great record and especially Wille Edwards slide guitar skills are top notch. Recommended if you like Cream and Soundgarden.

Paths is a self-released album. Buy it from their website.
