Swedish quartet Slim Loris are on the fence between indie rock and pop on their new EP One Kind of Bull. It's easy to point out the huge influence of Crowded House and Big Country on tracks like Space In Your Heart and Beetroot as well as Sixties pop of the Hollies variety in Don't You Tell.
While their melodic approach is decidedly radio-friendly their music is actually more complex, giving the listener plenty of opportunity to find bits and pieces that might have been overlooked at first. They paint in deceptive bright colours, but this is a dead serious band who can sing candidly about matters of the heart.
Slim Loris:
Mattias Cederstam: vocals, bass
Robert Barrefelt: guitar
Jonas Ellenberg: drums
Leon Lindström: vocals, guitar
