Folk duo The Saxophones are playing with their relationship on their single New Taboo. What would happen if husband Alexi Erenkov would be traded for "a better man" by bis wife Alison Alderdice? Originally perceived as a duet they shifted the song to the male perspective, a smart move because the hurt - even though it is only a thought experiment - becomes more gripping. Note the flute solo - sadness captured withing the space of a few bars of music.
New Taboo is the lead single from their upcoming new album Eternity Bay, which is available for pre-order here. The limited orange vinyl version comes with a cassette with the demo recordings for the album.
