Barcelona based singer-songwriter Daniel Ruiz came up with a horror story for his new single. The Velvet Lynx is a ferocious prowling the streets of a village, obsessed with "keeping a perfect score" (do the math). And he is not alone either: "Diamond fanged black feline // The children weep as the sun sets behind // The mount in which it’s said resides // The Velvet Lynx and his thousand sisters". Ruiz uses his signature gravely voice, with saxophone player Arnau Abadal nailing the tone of Roxy Music's Andy Mackay.
The Velvet Lynx is a self-released single. Buy it from his website.
