As a follow-up for the Halloween inspired Rated V album Detroit based deathgaze band Vazum now celebrate Krampus with their new Vazumnacht EP, three heavily deconstructed carols with brand new words. Zach Pliskah (guitar, synth, drums) and Emily Sturm (vocals, bass) took elements of post-punk and industrial to create a parallel party mood where darkness reigns and get rid of the sugarcoated fluff made by the likes of Mariah Carey, Chris Rea and Bing Crosby.
Lyrics like "low has sunk the ground beneath // so tread softly // sow your your grief // all the world and nature trod // such the price for killing god" can act as an excellent conversation starter at a family dinner in the holiday season.
Vazumnacht is a self-released EP. Buy it (pay-what-you-want) from their website.
