Audrey Foxx: Stone Cold Woman

Now that live music is not an option the Stone Cold Woman EP by Chicago singer Audrey Foxx can serve as an alternative for a dose of late night bluesy jazz. Pop it in the player and imagine being transported to a nice bar where she has commandeered the tiny stage with her four partners in crime.

Foxx has sings about love and sex, without ever mentioning the latter directly, but it is pretty obvious. With three of her own compositions, co-written with veteran Phil Balsano, and the standards I Cover the Waterfront and You Better Go Now to keep the tradition alive she now has a business card that she can hand to promoters as a means to convince them that she can take over a room with her smokey delivery. Bartenders might notice a drop in their booze sales, because their clientele won't want to miss a single note of her performance.

Audrey Foxx: vocals (arranger)
Chris White: piano
Sean Jacobi: bass
Ryan Jacobi: drums
Josh Rzepka: trumpet/flugelhorn (horn arrangements)
