Pearie Sol, keyboards player for DC-area rockers Gauche, howls like a banshee with a bad cold on his single Real Happiness, a rambling post-punk garage track that comes out of the left of left field. He does not want to be happy, he want to be ecstatic with joy, but the world gets in the way every single time. With this gnarly, lo-fi excursion through anxiety and desperation he tries to find the middle way between Elliot Smith and Daniel Johnston.
Real Happiness is the title track from his forthcoming album, out on June 18 via Happy Happy Birthday To Me Records (CD, cassette).
