Guitarist Zeno Jones and drummer Rodney B. of Louisville, KY based duo Cold Beverage play stripped down, blues-drenched rock 'n' roll that is so rough that it will have the unitiated running for the hills. Hot Wax, their new album takes the approach of the Black Keys and The Sideshow Tragedy to the next level, making the distorted guitar howl like it was recorded in a runaway cement mixer and the drum fills bouncing off the walls, with all the needles so deep in the red that a power outage is barely avoided.
They don't sing, they holler. Cold Beverage is adamant to leave no room for other things to worry about, except having a good time while they working hard to get the demons out of their system. If the neighbours don't come knocking on the door to complain, turn it up some more.
