Welsh quintet The Rotanas have taken the Britpop format to the wringer and added a shitload of fuzz and reverb for their new single Get The Call. Singer Harry Watton manages to sound aloof and anxious simultaneously, struggling a bit to rise above the wall of sound constructed by the guitarists Aaron Tormey and James Wilson. The nineties are very much alive in Cardiff, even down to dressing the part. Recommended if you like Oasis before they got pretentious.
The Rotanas:
Harry Watton: vocals
Tommy Evans: drums
Aled Owen: bass
Aaron Tormey: guitar
James Wilson: guitar
Get The Call is released via Disobedient Records.
