Dutch alt-folk singer Roos Meijer dares to dream on her debut album, Why Don't We Give It A Try?. She is an idealist, hoping for change. She shuns pontificating, offering her observations in a subdued but firm manner, with her vocals and acoustic guitar as the core elements.
Trying to solve all the wrongs is not realistic, but it doesn't hurt to give it a shot. If anything her optimism is heartfelt and honest, drawing inspiration from lengthy talks with 8 change makers. The music switches from folk to alt-pop, with orchestral flourishes and whispering percussion.
Why Don't We Give It A Try? is self-released album. Buy it (vinyl, CD) from her website. Digital onBandcamp.
