Rotterdam based folk noir band The Bullfight have nearly finished recording their new spoken word album, Some Divine Gift, with contributions by Barry Hay (Golden Earring), Spinvis, David Boulter (Tindersticks), Alex Roeka, Daisy Cools, Mark Ritsema, and Nick Verhoeven.
Like they did for their previous studio album Eggs & Marrowbone they invited visual artists to provide the artwork for the songs. Confirmed so far: James Johnston, Henk Schiffmacher, Bianca van der Werf, Jaco Putker, and Bastiaan Mol. The art will be displayed in Rotterdam.
L'étranger Noir pays tribute to the films, posters and books of the 1940s and 1950s about murky detectives, corrupt cops, femmes fatale, sex, violence and betrayal. It will be released via Brandy Alexander Recordings (vinyl, CD).
Live dates:- 11/17 Haarlem @ Patronaat
- 11/20 Rotterdam @ Worm (Frontaal)
- 11/26 Amsterdam @ De Nieuwe Anita
- 11/02 Delft @ Rietveld Theater
