Atlanta based post-punk shoegazers The Deepest Shade must have been listening religiously to Slowdive, Ride and Siouxsie and the Banshees for a couple of months straight. The four songs on their debut EP Reflections feature wall-to-wall guitars, a rock solid foundation for singer Jennifer Stone's dark tales about Mind Control and anxiety in general.
Dystopian imagery has always been a part of the alt-rock movement, long before the technology that could make it a reality even existed. The future is no longer all about sun and rainbows. The quartet's introspective stand is not so much a straight out warning, but it sure is food for thought for anyone who cares to listen closely.
Reflections is a self-released EP. Buy it from their website. Full stream on Souncdcloud.
