Porcupine Tree have unveiled a video for Rats Return, a track from their new album Closure / Continuation: "Long time fans will appreciate the adventurous rhythm changes and mood swings, a hybrid of their early prog days with their metal phase leanings on top of it. Also: the lyrics are dark and rightly so. There is no wisdom in crowds, only copy cat behaviour. And people who claim to take of things only take care of themselves".
Steven Wilson offered this explanation: "This song is about those who claim to have the interests of the people at heart, but when it comes down to it there is only ego and self-interest. I find myself reflecting on what sort of person would actually be so driven as to want to rule over a whole nation, and aren’t these people by definition the very last people that should be allowed to do so? The rats will always save themselves first".
