All four studio albums by jangly indie pop band Heavenly will be reissued on vinyl over the next two years, starting with their debut album Heavenly vs Satan on November 26th. The originals are still in high demand among the cognoscenti of superb melodic pop with an edge. Fabled DJ John Peel liked them a lot and they recorded two sessions for his radio show, both of which were released on 7" EPs this year. They disbanded in 1996 after tragedy had struck: drummer Mathew Fletcher took his own life.
Nowadays singer Amelia Fletcher and bass player Rob Pursey both play in The Catenary Wires and Swansea Sound, still on the fence between pop and punk, and Peter Momtchiloff is playing guitar with Would Be Good and Tufthunter.
The band will perform their first show in 28 years, which will be a very special event indeed Ian Button (Papernut Cambridge, Swansea Sound) will be drummer. £1 from each ticket sale will be donated to Grassroots Suicide Prevention.
Live date:- 05/20 London, UK @ Bush Hall
Heavenly vs Satan will be released on Skepwax Records and also will include the two singles I Fell In Love Last Night b/w Over And Over and Our Love Is Heavenly b/w Wrap My Arms Around Him.
The other three albums will be released in chronologicall order: Le Jardin de Heavenly in early Summer 2023, and The Decline and Fall of Heavenly and Operation Heavenly will hit the shops in 2024.
