Hong Kong British artist mui zyu, nom-de-plume of Eva Liu, captures the nearly unsufferable boredom when you are stuck in one-sided converation you can't walk away from, in the video for her new single, Talk to Death. It is a metaphor for a relationship that has hit rock bottom. Taking elements of both jazz and avant-pop as the musical backing for this seemingly sad tale. It all ends well however, with some kind of catharsis by proxy.
Talk to Death is a track from her forthcoming first solo full-length, Rotten Bun for an Eggless Century via Father/Daughter Records. It is available for pre-order here (coloured vinyl, CD, digital). Release date: February 24th. The video was made by CLUMP Collective.
