Vanity Mirror, a retro-baroque pop duo, bring back the Sixties on their debut single, Tuesday's News. Singer Brent Randall (Gentle Brent, Electric Looking Glass) and percussionist Johnny Toomey (The Turns, Electric Looking Glass) have put melody first, closely followed by gently wailing guitar and tight drums. It sounds uncannily familiar, but there nothing wrong with hearing a bit of optimistic pop in the midst of Winter. Fans of George Harrison's guitar tone will love it.
It is a track from their forthcoming debut album PUFF, which will be released on May 12 (vinyl, digital) via We Are Busy Bodies.
