Vanity Mirror, a retro-baroque pop duo, keep flying their Sixties pop flag on their second single, Dandelion Wish. Singer Brent Randall (Gentle Brent, Electric Looking Glass) and percussionist Johnny Toomey (The Turns, Electric Looking Glass) have the knack to make a lo-fi bedroom recording shine like an expansive production. Recommended if you like The Kinks in their Village Green guise and the sound of the Canterbury scene in general. Mellotron included and nylon strings were used for that signature soft attack for the guitar.
It is a track from their forthcoming debut album PUFF, which will be released on May 12 (vinyl, digital) via We Are Busy Bodies. The video was made by Mat Dunlap.
