When Tony Valentino, the guitarist for LA based garage rock band The Standells, started working on revisited version of that band's classic Dirty Water album, he did not stop there. As a continuation of his signature six strings sound he added two new tracks to Dirty Water Revisited: the tongue-in-cheek raw I'm a Sexy Punk Rocker and the old school rocker Vicki.
Like many of his peers he was ripped off by his record label back in the day and by re-recording classics like Dirty Water (adopted as a sports anthem in Boston), Barracuda and Riot On The Sunset Strip he has claimed his court-side seat as a progenitor of proto-punk, and he is back in control of his artistic output. Singer Gary Kaluza nails it a frontman and bass player, but it is singer and drummer Duane Waider who will be voted MVP with his rollicking basic but damn catchy patterns.
Tony Valentino: guitar, keyboards, harmonica, vocals (all tracks); lead vocals (10)
Gary Kaluza: bass (all tracks), lead vocals and rhythm guitar (5, 9) vocals (all tracks)
