Tuscon based alternative rockers La Cerca have been sitting on a shimmering track for years. Gimme Some Myrrh came into a world as a solo acoustic showcase for Love as Laughter singer Sam Jayne, a dear friend of the band's frontman Andrew Gardner. When Jayne passed away, they decided to record the song and turn it into a touching send-off. Pushed gently forward by a swirling shoegaze guitar the band locks into a slow, dreamy groove, that keeps lingering long after it has finished playing.
La Cerca:
Andrew Gardner: bass IV, acoustic guitar, vocals
Bill Oberdick: electric guitar
John Matzek: drums
Sierra Norris: flute
