Knoxville, TN based band The Lethargics are working on new material, but the release of a new double A-side Meteorite b/w Shelter In Place, will make the wait more bearable. The band themselves are calling it an EP, a rather grand name for two songs that both come shy of a running time of four minutes.
All the key elements of their particular blend of Americana are in place: gruff vocals, swaggering guitar, and in-your-face bass and drums. Meteorite is an on-point rocker and Shelter In Place is filled with a Springteen-inspired melancholy, the kind of song that the Boss would not have minded to have written when he was working on Devils & Dust.
Meteorite b/w Shelter In Place is a single. Buy it from their website. Release date: September 1.
